About
Michael Mayrath completed his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2009. He completed a Masters in Program Evaluation in 2008, and his research focuses on how innovative technologies can be used to enhance learning and assessment.
He is currently working under Chris Dede at Harvard University on the Virtual Performance Assessment project.
His dissertation examined how a Cisco Systems’ simulation called Packet Tracer increases learning of computer networking knowledge. He previously worked at UT’s Institute for Advanced Technology where his primary duty was to consult with the Air Force on how to convert existing Professional Military Education into blended learning courses that utilize social technologies for distributed simulations of authentic battlefield scenarios.
