Thesis Title: Company States: A History of Corporate Statehood in America, 1629 - Present
About
I’m a JD/PhD student at Harvard in American history. My dissertation is on the history of "corporate statehood," a challenge to the modern idea that corporations more closely resemble people than states. I hope that thinking of corporations as state-like institutions will help demonstrate the need for not just corporate social responsibility, but more forms of corporate democratic accountability as well.
